CEBU, Philippines — Purecleanz and Snap-On topped their respective divisions in the 16th Thirsty Football Cup the other day at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Purecleanz defeated 01K ,2-0, to nab the men’s open championship title with Brenn Cisneros hailed as the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Snap-On, on the other hand, grabbed the women’s crown with a thrilling, 1-0, victory over Chicos United FC, 1-0. Snap-On’s Corinth Chua bagged the MVP award.
In the boys under-17 division, the team of Corpus Christi outscored the Ilonggo Young Booters in a penalty shoot-out, 6-5, to snare the championship. James Mocorro who led his team in the tournament won the MVP plum.
Completing the list of winners in the three-day football event were Sheba FC (girls U15) University of Southern Philippines Foundation (boys U19), Don Bosco Alumni (mixed open), University of San Carlos Alumni (40-above), Don Bosco Canlubang (players U7), Don Bosco Oreone (players U9), San Juan Lady Booters (girls U17), Legends FC (girls U19), Don Bosco Marvelli (players U11), Davao Crocs FC (boys 13) and Tamasak FC (boys U15).
