Accenture reclaims solo top spot in E-Leagues

CEBU, Philippines — Archie Brian Vincent Batua notched 14 points on top of six rebounds, and Jetro Gonzaga scored 11 as the Accenture Sharks outlasted Sykes Pioneers, 60-57, to reclaim the solo top spot in the Elite Classic of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball Season 14 last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

The Sharks used a 24-16 run in the third quarter to gain the momentum they need to chalk up their ninth win in 10 games.

Jan Michael Auditor cashed in 20 points 14 rebounds, two assists, and two steals but his impressive performance went in vain as the Pioneers dropped to 6-3.

In the EVO League, Jerard Dela Cerna nailed 22 markers and Albien Jon Cadungog chipped in 18 as the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs bested the Streamline Kangaroos, 82-73, for their fifth straight victory that very well made up for their woeful 0-2 start.

Geory Apas has a scintillating show of 30 points, 22 rebounds, four steals, three blocks and two assists but his all-around hardcourt brilliance proved futile as the Kangaroos crashed to their seventh loss in as many starts.

In the other EVO League games, Emannon Carlo Ocariza, Steven Cabanday and Robert Rebano connived for 48 points as the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties edged the Optum Knights, 63-56, to raise their record to 6-1, while Jade Seno, Juhnmar Paburada, Noel Villaceran, and Armalon Fernandez also had a combined total of 48 points as the Results Manila Spartans whipped the Research Now-SSI Warriors, 73-67, for their third win in five games.
