2018  Batang Pinoy TCC pads lead

CEBU, Philippines — TCC went ahead with 25 gold, 2 silver and 26 bronze medals in the unofficial medal count, way ahead of Laguna, who is currently at second place with 18 gold, five silver and 13 bronze medals.

 

Cebu City athletes snared eight more golds, seven silvers and seven bronzes yesterday.

Weightlifter Giselle Anne Betua led TCC’s charge after winning the gold medal in the girls 58 kgs division at the YMCA, Session Road.

Betua established her personal best of 157 kilograms, 63 kgs in the snatch and 84 kgs in the clean and jerk.

Juliana Nicole Loberanis once again delivered for Cebu City with a gold medal in the duathlon, while Rex Amamangpang got the gold in the triple jump event.

Geanne Rallos, on the other hand, got TCC’s first gold in gymnastics via the vault apparatus as Karateka Gian Mangitngit clinched the gold in the kumite, while teammate Kim Maquiling and Jenda Atillo settled for bronze each.

Chess player Edelyn Vosotros  also contributed with a gold and silver in the chess standard and blitz.

Julius Mark Joring and Bernadeth Ginobiagon were both gold medalists in arnis held at the St. Louis Junior High School, while Harvey Verano and Matt Raven Bayno secured bronzes in Benguet.

So far, TCC Muay Thai team scored a silver and three bronzes courtesy of Buen Algono, Edgar and Ken Calvin Caburnay Jr. and John Francis Almario.

TCC will also be playing in three championship matches today with including the boys volleyball, girls beach volleyball and girls basketball.

Meanwhile, Nicole Del Rosario continues to hand Cebu Province gold medals via the age-group duathlon and in the individual time trial of cycling.

Aside from Del Rosario, Jeanna Canete also gave Cebu Province a gold in the ITT, while karateka Ephraim also delivered a gold as his teammates Jhudiel Olivar and Jarod Edulan contributed with one silver apiece.
