CEBU, Philippines — Thousand athletes all over Visayas region will once again converge, this time in the City of Naga for the second leg of the Philippine Sports Commission's 'Visayas Open 2018' on July 7.
As part of PSC's talent identification, all events will have three age groups, 12-under, 16-under, and 22-under.
The sports included in the second leg are arnis, boxing, karatedo, taekwondo, tennis, archery, badminton, open water swimming and air riffle, while a demo-sport in judo and fencing will also be presented.
"It's all system go for the Visayas Open in Naga. We are already prepared in terms of the venue and other matters for the games which will be played there," said PSC-7 Executive Director Boobi Kintanar said. "As of today (yesterday) we already have 700 registered athletes covering 11 sports."
Kintanar also added that PSC's Children's Games will resume this July until August in Negros Occidental and some areas of Cebu Province.
The Children's Games will resume in the cities of Sipalay and Himamaylan in Negros Occidental on July 28 and 29, respectively. On August 4 and 5 PSC will be in Silay and Victorias City simultaneously and in Toledo City, Cebu on August 18, and in Lapu-Lapu City on Aug.19
Meanwhile, the free registration for the Visayas Open registration is now open until July 6. Interested participants may visit the PSC office located inside the Cebu City Sports Center or contact 254-7291.
