CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Darters United (CDU) is all set to compete in the Philippine Open-Tacloban, an international dart tournament set to start on Thursday at the Leyte Academic Center in Palo, Leyte.
"We are a hundred percent ready for the competition," CDU founder and team captain Ramon Alcoseba said.
Alcoseba expressed that Cebu is well represented and that they are hopeful for a good result in the four-day tilt participated in by top darters from over 10 countries and offers at least P5 million in cash prize to the winners.
"I can say that we have the strongest players for our team and as for the competition. They are very much excited to compete and we are all aiming for the gold to put Cebu darters back on top," he said.
Along with Alcoseba in the 16-man CDU lineup are former rated players Roy Laude, Roniel Pedrosa and Odong Pamati-an. Joining them are Junjun Monsanto, Boyt Campugan, Reyden Colina, William Ugang Jr., Dino Bacayo, Arvic Recana, Cyrus Cabungcag, Shayne Cathalia Soquiño, Mike Silvero, Jojo Morados, Elmer Jarantilla, and Gilbert Bejec, the youngest at 16 years old.
The group will see action in all categories, the 4-man team, 3-man team, singles, doubles, seniors, and youth division.— (FREEMAN)
