Don Bosco to hold basketball clinic
CEBU, Philippines - The Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu will be holding a basketbal training camp as part of its sports development program. There will be two batches of training from April 3-15 and from April 24 to May 6 at the Don Bosco Technology Center gym in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
Open to aspiring hoopsters aged seven to 18 years old, the training session is set from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday to Saturdays.
Camp consultant Britt Carlo Reroma said they will be teaching their students the fundamentals of basketball for players development such as balance and footworks, proper dribbling, layups, shooting, passing, defense and team plays.
"Aside from enhancing their know-how on both the basic and advance techniques of basketball, they will also learn the value of discipline and team work the Bosconian way," said Reroma, who guided the University of San Carlos Warriors to their first ever major basketball title in Cebu cagedom two years ago.
At present, Reroma is connected with the Sarawak Eagles, a commercial team in Malaysia where he also calls the shots for
its national juniors team.
With Reroma out of the country, the Don Bosco cage clinic will be under the supervision of coaches Marvin Carreon, BJ Murillo, Jed Cabellon, Taabs Abellana and Julius Caballero.
Registration fee is pegged at P2,000 for Bosconians and P2,500 for outsiders. For more information, interested parties may contact 273-1127 to 28 local 101.
