CEBU, Philippines - The Panthers added another trophy to their title collection after they roared past the top-seeded Dragons, 105-98, in their sudden-death final match to rule the inaugural Elite Basketball-Talisay over the weekend at the Vista Grande gym in Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.
Former collegiate star Mark Panerio again proved his worth as a member of the Mythical Five as he spearheaded the Panthers' offensive attack with 26 points while Aljun Areja added 16 points.
The Dragons were led by Daryl Villarante with 25 points while Kyle Esbra added 23 points in a losing effort.
The Panthers never looked back after taking a 54-47 lead at halftime.
Meanwhile, Elite Basketball-Talisay's top performers were feted after the championship game.
Joining Panerio in the Mythical Five were P Season 1 MVP Prince Vaughn Malana (Stallions), Joirene Salcedo (Falcons), Paolo Mabitad (Dragons) and Jonathan Adlawan (Pandas).
