CEBU, Philippines - Desederio Engbino successfully defended his title as Rosalinda Cosino reigned supreme in the women's division of the Mactan Speed 50 Ultramathon over the weekend in Lapu-Lapu City.
The 45-year-old Engbino kept his men's crown with an improved time of three hours, 40 minutes and 31.31 seconds. He clocked in only 3:55:41 last year.
Paul James Zafico placed second in his first try with a 3:50 clocking, while Bayani Alvarez came out third with the time of 4:10:02.
On the other hand, Cosino finished more than two hours after Engbino crossed the finish line, but was good enough to come out the fastest in the distaff side in 6:13:25.
Jurilyn Solis came just 33 seconds behind Cosino, while Irene Oliveros wound up third in 6:22:53.
Making up the list of age-group winners were Singapore's Kelly Lim and Florentino Somera (40-49), Rona Lacanlale and Janrey Yadao (20-29), Katrina Perez-Catingub and Lemuel Repollo (30-39), and Edwin Patenio (50-59). (FREEMAN)
