CEBU, Philippines – Veteran long distance runner Mereeis Ramirez and little-known Christopher Napalla dominated their respective divisions in JCI-Cebu Mactan Channel Incorporated’s Christmas Run yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu grounds.
Ramirez crossed the finish line with the time of 56 minutes and 51 seconds to rule the 12K women’s class, followed by Mea Gahi in 1:07:38. Rona Lacanlao ended third with the time of 1:11:00.
In the men’s side, Napalla registered the fastest time of 47 minutes and 58 seconds. Paul Delposo wound up second in 50:40 followed by Russel Romulo with 54:07.
Jerson Casinillo lorded it over at the 6K men’s action with 25:07. He outpaced Adelio Chang who placed second with 27:48, while Randell Siray settled for third with 29:10 clocking.
Yssa Briagola topped the women’s division with 32:40 clocking beating Megan Arneson by just two seconds. Madelyn Bedolido grabbed the third place with 39:43.
In the 3K category, Ralph So (11:17) and Nicole Del Rosario (13:48) were the first two to reach the finish line in their respective divisions. (FREEMAN)
