Convergys Converters bag 11th E-League cage crown

CEBU, Philippines – The Convergys Converters completed a two-game sweep of the Teleperformance All Stars, 71-63, in their best-of-three finals series to clinch the Elite Classic title of the 11th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Franz Dione Dysam scored 10 of his 19 points in the last quarter, including seven straight in the final two minutes to become the hands-down choice as Finals MVP.

Down by nine points after three periods, 45-54, the All Stars fought back with aplomb to forge a 63-all deadlock with 1:30 to go in the game, but that was the best they could muster as Dysam sparked an 8-0 blitz that spurred the Converters to triumph.

Dysam, who also passed out 11 assists and picked up three steals, was heavily backed up by Lourenz Limpangog with 18 points and Sherwin Anghay, who finished with 15 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals.

Rodulfo Enterina III was the lone double-digit scorer for the All Stars with 11 points laced with nine rebounds and four assists.

Meanwhile, Franco Angelo Cipriano of the Lexmark Stallions shone the brightest among the individual awardees after being crowned as the regular season MVP.  He was joined into the elite Mythical Five by his teammate Sylvester Millevo, Ryan Veloso of Teleperformance, and Ildefonso Bulangis, Jr. and Archie Batua of Accenture.

It was a triple celebration for Cipriano as also he emerged as the league's 'Tapal King' with an average of 2.86 blocks per game as well as the rebounding leader with a norm of 11.86 rpg.
