CEBU, Philippines – Cebuano hotshot Dondon Hontiveros will spearhead the Cebu leg of the Alaska Basketball Power Camp 2015 set to kick off this Saturday at the Don Bosco Technology Center gym in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
Aside from imparting the fundamentals of the sport, Hontiveros and his band of coaches will also teach the young aspiring hoopsters in this side of the country on how to become champions on and off the court.
Open to both boys and girls aged seven to 18 years old, the training sessions are set on October 31 and November 3 at DBTC, the beloved alma mater of Hontiveros during his high school days.
The rest of the extensive training camp will be held at the University of San Jose-Recoletos Basak Campus on November 8, 15, 22 and 29 and on December 6, 13 and 20.
The basketball power camp promotes Alaska’s belief that sports play an important role in instilling positive values among the youth including discipline, hard work, teamwork and determination.
It also helps the youth develop skills in team sports like basketball as well as the fundamental values that develop character and necessary attributes for success not just in sports but in everyday life.
Those who are interested to join are adviced to enlist early as slots are limited to only 125 on a first come, first served basis.
Entry fee is pegged at P2,500 inclusive of an Alaska t-shirt, training jersey and basketball signed by all players of the Alaska Aces in the PBA.
