CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars completed the semifinals cast of the 15th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. basketball with a 73-53 victory over the University of Cebu Webmasters yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Jaguars joined three other qualifiers who made it outright into the semifinals led University of San Carlos Warriors, University of the Visayas Green Lancers and Southwestern University Cobras.
The semifinals will start on Tuesday with Warriors taking on Jaguars, as the Green Lancers battles the Cobras.
Kelvin Villafranca led Jaguars’ offense with 18 points, while Jayvie Mantilla registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Mark Labares also showed an impressive game for USJ-R with his 15 points, while Ralho Dinolan added 12 markers. Melvin Butohan finished with 12 points for the Webmasters.
Jaguars applied airtight defense on the Webmasters who had a hard time in getting their shots to fall.
Clint Suelto contributed with 11 points for UC, while Filvenson Culango added 10 points in a losing effort. (FREEMAN)
