Lee, Perez dominate first Siomai Festival Run

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Prince Joey Lee defeated a Kenyan runner, while little-known Melody Perez surprised everyone in the 9K category of the first Siomai Festival Run yesterday in Barangay Tisa, this city.

Lee topped the men’s class as Douglas Mwiti trailed behind as Michael Largo settled for third place.

In the distaff side, Perez claimed the top spot as she upended two young but seasoned runners in Cherry Andrin and Michelle Beboso who placed second and third, respectively.

For his part, Adonis Singson snared the men’s executive class title, while Anita Penaroya Balaga won the women’s class.

Ronilo Gabilan beat John Cliff Debolusan for the 3K men’s title, while Geneda Arcuino was first in the finish line in the women’s division outpacing Lovely Fe Andrin.—  (FREEMAN)
