RDAK Transporters, Dynamic Power start strong in SHAABAA semis

EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion RDAK Transporters and Dynamic Power opened their semifinal campaigns on a bright note in the 20th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Cup last Wednesday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu old campus gym along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City.

Ian Ong and John Paul Cabrera each scored 10 as RDAK hacked out a 40-31 win over AutoLab, while Chad Go sparkled with 16 points in Dynamic Power's masterful 61-36 demolition of Caltex Delo.

RDAK mellowed down after taking an early 10-5 lead, but unleashed a steady offensive in the final half to turn back AutoLab.

In the other game, Rodrick Magubat and Theogene Lim tossed in 14 and 12 markers for Dymamic Power, which preyed on the absence of two of Caltex Delo's top players in Chad Cañares and Andrew Choachuy to come up with a 25-point blowout.

Victory was seemingly in the palm of Dynamic Power's hand after it greeted the match with a 19-4 bang. They never looked back from there onwards.

Dennis Cue was the lone double-digit scorer with 12 points for Caltex Delo. (FREEMAN)
