CEBU, Philippines - Close to 200 employees of the Cebu People's Coop will showcase their athletic talents in basketball and volleyball through its first ever sportsfest scheduled on August 22 at the Barangay San Nicholas Sports Complex right beside the San Nicolas de Tolentino parish church.
The inter-color tournament will be participated in by employees from 24 business units of Cebu People’s Coop including that from Bantayan Island and Leyte.
“Aside from giving our employees a way to be fit and healthy, this tournament will also be a great way to strengthen their bond and learn teamwork not only in sports but also in their respective jobs in the Cebu People’s Coop,” said CPC President and CEO Macario Quevedo.
Eight teams will fight for the championship in basketball, while six teams will compete in the volleyball.
“We believe that this event will help our employees improve on their work,” said CPC Board of Directors chairperson Maria Marlene Ladonga.
The champion teams in both basketball and volleyball will receive P5,000, while the second and third placers will pocket P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.
