CEBU, Philippines – After a failed bid in a multi-stage road racing event, Roy Carbonera returned to mountainbike with a blast through the 10th Camotes Island Cross-country Mountainbike Challenge in San Francisco, Camotes.
Carbonera won the combined junior-senior division against the ever daring Gino Basirgo as Warren Vinansettled for bronze.
Carbonera ended the race in one hour, 22 minutes and 45.44 seconds, while Basirgo came in two minutes later with a 1:22:47.14 clocking. Vinan touched down the finish line in 1:56:50.71.
On the other hand, Xterra pro Joseph Miller ruled the veterans class with the time of 1:15:14.54. Jun Duron placed second in 1:21:34.84 followed by Roll Cabaluna with the time of 1:26:12.53.
Ramonito Espinosa dominated the masters division in 1:21:33.15 followed by Nick Malon (1:29:19.14) and Lyndel Caraquel (1:36:11.89).
The Pilapils also had a good time with Metchel winning the beginner's class in 1:24:33.16 and Rommel reigning supreme in the executive race with the time of 1:28:04.93.
Leonard Talimporos emerged the fastest among all Camotes riders.He finished in 1:29.1802. Jhonnas Rey Lauron was second in 1:37:37.26, while Ronie Galon Jr. came out third in 1:52.38.95.
Sixto Quiapo lorded it over in the golden division with the time of 1:36:54.05. The next two spots were occupied by Nilo Tabernero (1:46:15.78) and Eduardo Soco (1:56.28.47). (FREEMAN)
