CEBU, Philippines – The Cebuano booters will get a taste of the Football Five World Championships or F5WC with the staging of a qualifying event here on February 28 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Organized by Football Manila, the Cebu Football Association-sanctioned tournament is open to amateur players aged 16 years old and above.
Each team shall be composed of a maximum of seven players, with only five to play. Foreign players are allowed to see action as long as they are residing in the Philippines. Their team, however, must have at least three Filipino citizens.
In line with this, the organizers will have a coaches' meeting at 7 p.m. on February 23 at the Cubanas along Mango Avenue.
Entry fee is pegged at P2,500.
The top winner will advance into the Country Finals on March 28 in Manila. The overall champion will then represent the country to the Grand Finals in Dubai later this year.
The champion in Dubai will enjoy an all-expense paid trip to Berlin to watch the UEFA Champions League Finals. (FREEMAN)
