CEBU, Philippines – Before her stint in the Los Angeles Marathon, Cebuana long distance running star Mary Joy Tabal added feathers on her cap after ruling the premiere 20-kilometer action of the 2015 Philhealth Run yesterday at the Cebu Business Park.
Tabal, who just got her U.S. visa for the L.A Marathon next month, finished the race in one hour, 24 minutes and 48.51 seconds. Ruffa Sorongon finished second in 1:30:50, while Keisha Mae Delecos grabbed the third spot with a 1:32:41 clocking.
In the men’s 20K, Kenyan Isaac Simat came out the fastest in 1:11:28, while Azlan Pagay placed second in 1:13:18 followed by Robert Daang with the time of 1:13:46.
Andrin siblings came out with a 1-2 finish in the 10K class as Lovely Fe finished the race in 43:25, followed by her sister Jhean with 45:43 clocking. Criselda Allanic settled for third with 47:10.
Noel Tillor lorded over at the men’s class with 33:49, beating Elmer Bartolo (33:56) and another Kenyan Abraham Missos (34:28).
Lovely Fe and Jean’s younger sister Cherry dominated the 5K class after finishing the race in 20 minutes and 56 seconds. Michelle Beboso (22:57) and Maryjoy Castor (25:18) placed second and third. (FREEMAN)
