CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano netter Jerico Bohol virtually barged into the semifinal round of the FCTGB-Chairman’s Cup tennis tournament in Bahrain.
Unfortunately, Bohol had to oust fellow Pinoy Jojo Fernandez, 6-2, 6-1 to assure himself of a semifinal seat in the super singles.
Bohol hopes to win his last game in the elimination round to gain top seeding going into the crossover semis.
While waiting for the schedule of his next assignment, Bohol will see action in the Bahrain Tennis Federation Tennis League.
The BTFTL is a team event, with the Filipino group fielding in two teams.
Bohol is placed under Team A along with Raymund Leano of Catarman, Leyte, and Gilbert Sinocruz, Carlo dela Rosa, Norman Abastillas, Ervin Timola,Ronie Cifra and Rizal Respicio of Manila.
Phl’s Team B is headed by Gregg Esquivel together with Omar Ramirez, Ed Tuando, Ronald Anacin, Mike Bernal, Buboy Cua, Sammy Samaco and Darius Loberiano. — (FREEMAN)
