CEBU, Philippines – Dancesport-Team Cebu City collected 14 gold medals, including 11 silvers and five bronzes in the DSCPI National Dancesport Champions at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
DTCC’s directress Eleanor Hayco led the cast with three golds in the senior A and C latin with Jimmy Noel and at the 2A latin together with Wilbert Aunzo.
Three other couples got two golds each with Kevin Deluvio and Jam Flores dominating the Latin SE 1C and grade C while Andrew Ysla and Noelyn Pedrano got winning the latin and modern standard junior A division.
Ronnie Vergara also had two golds together with his wife Charlea in the Latin professional A and the other one with Verena Lopez in the Latin pro-am C class.
Jeffrey Ruben Benarao and Mary Canillo nab a gold in the latin through the grade B level.
The rest of the DTCC’s golds came from the standard class with Hezekiah Sobrevega and Rowella Rydel Pat in the juvenile A, Zjiane Troy and Zjiana Tracy Villarta in youth A , Ronald Ruiz and Jecelyn Versteeg in the senior C and Bjorn Torreon and Jam Flores in the special event 1C.
The tandems of Adrian Veraces and Carrie Samson and Jake Emmanuel Corro and Anndreah Kiem Capangpangan delivered two silvers apiece, while other silver medalists are John Paul Mocorro and Therese Andre’ Quilaton, Jaydel Fresh and Ouie Selene Rendon, Romeo Cialbo and Mary Desiree Seraga, Bernie Tumarong and Mae Paracuelles, Jeffrey Ruben Benarao and Mary Mae Canillo, Jesel Yap and Diane James and Charlie Camacho and Marisse Reyes.
Cebu’s top dancesport duo, Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Marie Cañeda ended its bid with a bronze in the premiere Latin grade A as Zjiane Troy and Zjiana Tracy Villarta also contributed with a bronze in the Latin youth A.
A bronze medal was also won by Anselmo Estillore with Mary Desiree Seraga in the Latin grade B. Dominador Ylanan and Rebecca Vasaylaje and Inoue Roi Rendon and Sharmaine Buen Maloloy-on also gave DTCC two more bronzes. (FREEMAN)
