CEBU, Philippines- As expected, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles picked up an easy win over the league's favorite 'whipping boys', the Don Bosco Technology Center Greywolves, 92-37, to stay undefeated in six starts in the juniors division of the 14th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. men's basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.
Meanwhile, defending and 10-time champion University of the Visayas Green Lancers hope to score their first back-to-back wins of the season when they take on the University of Cebu Webmasters in tonight's collegiate tussle.
The Magis Eagles might be several notches higher than the Greywolves, but they are either not scoring at will or they are not really after of a scoring record. They, however, still dominated the game all throughout. After a 21-7 lead in the first period, they made it a 39-18 count at the intermission.
Interestingly, SHS-Ateneo coach Rommel Rasmo did not field in Jose Piero Dominic Longa, Steven Co and Kevin Brian Johnson, perhaps to rest them in anticipation of a tougher games ahead.
Joshua Sinclair unloaded 21 points, while Zachary Lance Eden Huang and Andrew Vincent Velasco banged in 12 and 11 markers, respectively for the Magis Eagles, who are just one win away from completing a seven-game elimination round sweep. In sharp contrast, the Greywolves are still without a win in six starts.
