Accenture drops bombshell vs. Aegis in CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines - The Accenture Sharks came up with what is by far the biggest shocker in the 10th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament after it crushed defending champion Aegis Vipers, 69-45, last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

There wasn't any trace that Accenture was up against the reigning title-holders as it hammered Aegis right after the opening buzzer to post an imposing 23-3 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.

Accenture wasn't done from there as it continued its relentless offensive against Aegis in the second period to mount an eye-popping 32-point lead at halftime, 46-14. The rest, as they say, was history.

Ryan Edward Llanos led Accenture's balanced attack with 19 points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Archie Brian Vincent Batua banged in 13 points on top of seven rebounds, while Ryan Jay Peñaranda added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists for Accenture, which served early notice on who is the most dominant force in the league this season.

Kevin Clark Navaja was the lone double digit scorer for Aegis with 11 points and two rebounds.

In the other lopsided match, Loise Anthony Colina had 14 points and five rebounds and Ronald Mabanto added 11 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals as the Convergys-1 Wolves slammed 24/7, 61-31.

Convergys was never threatened after after cruising to an 18-3 start.

In other games, Robert Espinoza exploded with 27 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals as the SSI Warriors vanquished the Wipro Tigers, 79-70, while Niño Belande had 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in Supportsave's 59-53 win over Calltek. (FREEMAN)
