ALA Promotions gets US license

CEBU, Philippines - The country’s premier boxing promotional outfit, ALA Promotions reaches another milestone for Philippine boxing as they  became the first boxing promotion in Asia to be granted license to hold events in the United States.

ALA Promotions have worked on the license since 2011 and after a long wait, the California State Athletic Commission  finally approved the granting of license to the Philippine base boxing promotion to stage boxing events in the US, particularly in California.

ALA Promotions President and CEO Michael Aldeguer personally meet with Andy Foster, the Executive Officer of the CSAC where in the latter confirmed the granting of license by the organization to Aldeguer and their promotions.

ALA has been promoting boxing events and has put Philippines on the boxing map. They have also elevated the level of boxing for Filipino fighters through the world-renowned Pinoy Pride series.

 â€œPatience, hard work and determination plus ALA Promotion’s track record made it possible for Michael (Aldeguer) to finally get the license to promote in the US,” said ALA Boxing Promotions and Gym founder Antonio L. Aldeguer.

“It wasn’t easy as Michael initiated the talk way back in November but thank God he finally did it.”

With this development, Philippine boxing will invade United States as ALA Boxing Gym stars are expected to show their wares.

ALA-bred boxers will possibly fight in the US card of ALA Promotions includes WBO light flyweight king Donnie’ Ahas’ Nietes, Jason ‘El Niño’ Pagara, Merlito ‘Tiger’ Sabillo, Milan ‘El Metodico’ Melindo, comebacking Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista and AJ ‘Bazooka’ Banal.
