CEBU, Philippines - Sanda Soliano and Kenyan Douglas Mwiti emerged as the biggest winners in the first Amazon Festival Run yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu Terraces.
Soliano bagged the women’s crown after completing the 21 kilometer race in one hour, 43 minutes and 44 seconds. She was followed by Carla Cosep (1:48:14) who placed second as Montesa Tuscano (1:49:33) settled for third place.
In the men’s side, Mwiti took the top honors with a 1:14:11 clocking.
Sherwin Managuil ended up second in 1:21:05, while Jorry Ycong landed at third in 1:21:18.
In the 12K run, John Darryl Manus won a tough match against James Mebei to grab the top place with the time of 42:04. Mebei came in second in 43:52, while Michael Largo ended up third in 43:26.
Keisha Mae Delechos snatched the women’s 12K crown in 53:34 followed by Jhean Andrin (56:12) and Lynlie Cardenas (56:59).
Josephine Go reigned supreme in the women’s 6K class over Monien Vanden Boogard and Gemma Custodio, while Arnel Florentino lorded over at the men’s action with Jeremy Lemiux and Ricardo Flores as runner-ups. (FREEMAN)
