Hann siblings rule Oceanman event

CEBU, Philippines - The Hann siblings of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu had a good time in Bantayan Island as they dominated their respective classes in the Oceanman event of the 2014 Sta.Fe Beach Games at the Sugar Beach Resort yesterday.

Lorraine Hann topped the female open after finishing first in the 200m swim and 400mX4 run, beating Rue Reinhardt Panibon. She also dominated the 1.5-kilometer open water swim under the female 13-15 category in 21 minutes and 35.50 seconds. 

William Hann shared spotlight with her sister as he lorded it over the boys 12-under class.

Franklin Echeveria won the male open over Joel Penoncillo, while Lorraine and William’s father Steve ruled the 40-above class with a 29:32.44 clocking.

Ann Miscala was the fastest in the female 20-29 class with 35:49.37, while Rogie Abala won the men’s 20-29 after finishing with a time of 35:08.15.  Luz Tan also shines in the female 40-above category outsmarting Mary Rosales.

In the the 5K open water event, Ronald Tordillos timed 1:06:07.68 to reign supreme, followed by Wilmar Saavedra with a time of 1:31:22.52.

Saavedra though had nothing to be sorry about as he had something to brag after he won the men’s 5K action. Franklin Bais wound up second, while Anjie Jowarro finished third.

Sandra Sollano outsmarted Leonora Villamor for the women’s title, while Sheila Aligway landed third. (FREEMAN)
