Abellar Rules San Remigio motocross

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Jubenile Abellar snatched two titles in the kickoff leg of the 2014 MS Motosuit Motocross Series billed as ‘15th Calambua Motocross Cup’ the other day in Barangay Calambua, San Remigio.

The veteran Cebuano rider stood tall amidst the mud-harassed terrains to dominate the premiere expert open and intermediate open divisions.

Event organizers led by Sportman and Calambua Brgy.Captain Lou Ornopia decided to do only one heat as the racetrack was so muddy and slippery due to the rain. Ornopia’s reason was that he doesn’t want to risk the safety of the riders.

Abellar managed to snare the premiere open title after 12 laps of racing with 1.3-kilometer per lap over Jules Bandiga of Dinacat Racing of Davao and Cyril Tariman who wound up second and third place respectively.

In the intermediate division, Abellar bagged the top spot as he outmaneuvered John Flores, while Jules Bandigan took the third place.

BJ Pepito also scored a double victory via mini class 85-cc and mini 65-cc.  Jed Luna steals the show in the open enduro class over Donkey Sanchez and JR Cualiza.

Sanchez bounced back as he lorded it over in the beginners open production, while AJ Bubuli topped the novice open production.

Nelson Sicad won the executive A over Keiz BJ’s bigboss Seigfred Ornopia. Ornopia wasn’t also lucky in executive C as he was outpaced by Alan Padica.

The rest of the winners were Clinton Gualiza in the underbone and local enduro, Nonoy Reluya (executive B) and RK Cuesta (womens class).

The second leg of the MS Motosuit series is slated on May 24 in Borbon, while the third leg is in Toledo on June 6. (FREEMAN)
