CEBU, Philippines - Jason ‘El Nino’ (32-2, 19KOs) and ‘Prince’ Albert Pagara (19-0, 13KOs) both delivered sensational knockout wins against their respective Indonesian foes Friday night at the Maasin City gymnasium in their home city of Maasin, Southern Leyte.
Jason Pagara, the reigning WBO International light welterweight champion, had a hard-earned win against Rusmin Kie Raha (12-2,4KOs) whom he stopped in the seventh of their scheduled 10-round showdown.
The older Pagara started strong in the opening round as connect with a flurry of punches to the head and body of the Indonesia.
But Raha fought with a brave heart trying to land with his counter punches against the ALA Boxing star.
This challenged Pagara who went busy in targeting the body of Raha in the fifth and sixth round before delivering a crushing hook that sent the Indonesian on the canvass. The Indonesian was still down when the referee calls the count of ten at the 1:52 mark of the 7th round.
But not the same as his older brother, Albert Pagara made a short work of his opponent as he demolished Indonesian journeyman Skak Max (6-13, 6KOs) in the third round.
The 20-year-old Pagara landed some vicious one-two combination to the hapless Indonesian that forced referee Ben Necessario to halt the carnage at the 1:33 of the said round.
In the other result, Brian Lobitania stopped Boyce Sultan in the third round, Richard Barriors won via majority decision against Lito Dante, Elmo Traya scored a first round TKO over Rey dela Cruz and Wanmah Waminal outpointed Dondon Amparado. (FREEMAN)
