UC- Nigeria eyes Grand Slam

CEBU, Philippines - The Nigerian-powered University of Cebu (UC) seeks a grand slam victory through the men’s open championship of the 3rd BRO Football Cup today at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

UC-Nigeria has won two back-to-back titles prior to this event via the Don Bosco Football League and the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup. This time, the UC-Nigerians squad will be facing the unpredictable Team Korea in the championship match.

UC-Nigeria sealed its campain in the elimination round with a 6-4 win against ERCO-Don Bosco Alumni the other night. They finished the elimination with a 3-1 win-draw record to take the top spot in the standing.

The Koreans, for their part, sports a 3-1 win-loss card after beating the Airlifters, 4-0.

Meanwhile, it will be a double championship match between the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association  and Don Bosco Technological Center teams for the under-18 and under-13 divisions.

CVIRAA’s under-18 sealed their finals berth with a 2-0 victory against Liloan FC, while DBTC pulled off a 12-0 annihilation of Alegria.
