CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's up and coming pawnpushers will have another chance to test each other's skills through the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) Kiddies Tournament this Saturday at the Cebu Chess School located at the second floor of Central Books Building along P. del Rosario Street, this city.
The 7-round Swiss system competiton is open to aspiring chess players aged 14 years old and below.
The champion in the boys division will receive P2,000, while the second and third will pocket P1,500 and P1,000, respectively. The fourth and fifth will get P700 and P500. The top five finishers in the girls category will take home P1,500, P1,200, P800, P600 and P400.
The top three performers among participants aged 10 years old and below will get an bonus of P500, P300, and P200.
Entry fee is pegged at P75 for girls and P100 for boys. Registration starts at 9a.m., while action begins at 10:30 a.m.
