Lopez, Lim rule Cebu leg of 2014 NAGT series

CEBU, Philippines - Lorhiz Echavez-Lopez and Kristiane Lim dominated their respective divisions in the Cebu leg of the 2014 National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) series yesterday at the Danao City's Boardwalk in Danao City.

Omega Pro-sponsored Echavez completed the grueling race of endurance, stamina and mental toughness in one hour and 22 minutes.

Nia Aldeguer wound up second with 1:34:21, while Rochell Cabrera clinched the third place in 1:39:31.

In the distaff side, Lim reigned supreme after edging out Allan Ting. Lim finished the race in 1:08:08 clocking, while the latter came second with 1:17:09. Leonardo Angeles  took  the third place honors in 1:19:04.

Cesar Telan led the cast of top finishers in the age group categories after posting the best time in the 50-over division. The rest of the top performers were Expedito Dublin (35-39), Alec Noval (18-19), Stefan Cagulga (20-24), Alvirg Busa (25-29), Lecerio Pormento (30-34), Henry Benlot (45-49) and Gandhi Traya (40-44).

Team Durano composed of brothers in House Representative Ace, Vice Mayor Red and Councilor Mix Durano put their acts together to win the relay event over Team Pagay and Team Stevens.

In the super trikids,it was clearly a family affair with the Chiongbians, the Uys, the Mataragnons, Sos and the Archivals going for a podium finishes.

Aaliyah Mataragnon, for her part, outsmarted archrival Shaia Ruth Uy for the top spot in the girls 13-15 while  Issa Priagula came out third. — (FREEMAN)
