Rising Sun trounces Don Bosco in Aboitiz Cup

CEBU, Philippines - Rising Sun rose to the occasion with a 7-0 demolition of Don Bosco United FC in the men’s open division of the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Rising Sun blitzes right from the start, scoring three goals to nothing in the first half.

The Rising Sun defenders also went to score four more goals in the final half, never allowing Don Bosco United to convert even just a single goal.

For their part, Samba FC also came up with a 2-0 victory over KTEC trading in the men’s open action.

In the 38-above class, Queen City United outlasted Hiroshi FC, 3-0, while St. Theresa’s College nipped Cebu International School, 5-0, in the girl’s under-18 class.

In the under-15 bracket, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu silenced Phoenix, 2-0. Dynamo FC nailed back to back victories in the under-11 division at the expense of Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC)-4, 5-1. The Bosconians bounce back against BMALV, 5-1.

Cebu International School and Giuseppe overpowered DBTC-1 and DBTC-C in the under-9 action. (FREEMAN)
