Sunsport basketball camp to resume this weekend

CEBU, Philippines - Due to public clamor, the Sunsport Basketball Camp will resume its training on December 7 at the Sacred Heart Center Sports Club along D. Jakosalem Street, this city.

The five-week cage clinic will be held on Saturdays covering two hours per session from 12nn to 2 pm.

"We want the holiday season more meaningful and productive for the aspiring hoopsters out there," said Camp Director JoJo Romarate, even as he again assured the participants that they will learn both the fundamental and technical aspect of the sport in the course of their training." We will impart to our students the fundamentals of the sport such as proper shooting, dribbling, passing, footwork and other related drills."

"Aside from that basics of basketball, they will also be taught on some offensive and defensive strategies, on-court communication and other technical aspect of the game," added Romarate, who is also the head coach of Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers.

"Above all these drills, we want to instill in them the value of  hardwork, discipline and teamwork as well as the spirit of sportsmanship, which is the very essence of a well-rounded athlete."

Registration fee is pegged at only P1,000 inclusive of a training jersey and a Sunsport basketball 2013 edition.
