CEBU, Philippines - The twice-to-beat Pulpogan booked the first semis ticket after terminating Pulog, 55-42, in the SK division of the 3rd Mayor Teresa "Nene" P. Alegado Fiesta Cup basketball tournament at the Brgy. Jugan open court.
In the other SK quarterfinal matches, Tayud, Cansaga and Danlag stunned their twice-to-beat rivals to live and fight for another day.
Tayud eked out a 70-68 win over the gritty Jugan side, Cansaga subdued Garing, 56-50, while Danlag upended Casili, 62-57.
Jugan led for most of the way but its defense collapsed in the final two minutes, enabling Tayud to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and force a rubbermatch.
