FitFil Fitness Camp to feature aqua training, beach workouts

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano health-conscious individuals will be treated to relatively new experience as aqua training and beach workouts will be featured when Coach Jim Saret's FitFil (Fit-Filipino) Fitness Boot Camp returns to Cebu for the second straight year on September 10 to October 5 at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.

"Expect the unexpected in FitFil Cebu. The participants will get to know how to workout like 'Biggest Loser', an Ironman or an elite athlete," said event manager Alan "Coach A" G. Choachuy, himself a shining example of Coach Saret's highly effective training program.

Choachuy, a certified Ironman contender who has become a fitness ambassador since his life-changing stint in the world-renowned reality TV show 'The Biggest Loser' two years ago, said the camp will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8pm covering a total of 12 sessions.

"Each session is different wherein the campers will experience using TRX, combat ropes, stability boards, yoga, pilates, and MMA workout," said Choachuy. "This time, we offer something new for the participants. They can try the new aqua training and beach workouts. But again, I would like to remind them that their best gym equipment is their body. So we will be using their body weight to get them fitter, stronger and healthier!"

FitFil Movement was launched in Cebu last year by Coach Jim Saret, the head of elite performance training and fitness of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC). He holds a degree in Master of Science in Sports Medicine from Brigham Young University in the United States.

The trainer of the Biggest Loser Philippines and of various national sports teams, Saret is also recognized by media and experts alike as a top fitness coach in the country. His proven world-class fitness formula is used by elite national athletes, varsity players, celebrities, runners, swimmers and even obese individuals.

FitFil is an advocacy of Coach Saret to keep at least one million Filipinos fit, strong and healthy as study shows that one out of four Filipibos are obese.

Saret patented the famous four-minute workout that can burn up to 600 calories. It is proven effective and can even make an elite athlete faster and stronger.

"The biggest project of Coach Jim by far is his FitFil movement and I am proud to say that it all started here," said Choachuy, who was able to shed off 124 pounds in six months under the watchful eyes of Saret.

"For our upcoming event, each participant will also get expert nutritional advice and weight management tips from Nestle Wellness and  Nutritional Dietitian team. They will be part of the team to help them achieve their fitness goals," added Choachuy.

Those who want to join the extensive four-week FitFil Cebu Boot Camp may register at the Active Zone (just beside Breadtalk) in Ayala Center Cebu from 1 to 7 pm. Registration fee is pegged at P1,500 or a minimal P125 per session. (FREEMAN)
