CEBU, Philippines - The Erne Jawad Memorial Table Tennis Championships, the longest existing table tennis tournament in Cebu, will kick off its 22nd edition today at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Over a hundred table-paddlers are expected to join in this event, which features neophyte players and old-timers.
More youngsters are being counted by the organizers led by Jessica Jawad-Honoridez due to the inclusion of the elementary division. This is being done to give the aspiring players, especially those who were not able to join the Milo Little Olympics, a chance to further polish their skills.
Aside from the elementary team event, the other categories to be contested are the boys and girls singles, men and women's open and 18-under. (FREEMAN)
