All set for Club Filipino’s 16th Corn Tee

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Corn Tee golf tournament, now on its 16th year, is all set on Sept. 5–8 at its well-manicured greens and fairways in Pulangyuta, Danao City. Corn Tee is the yearly signature golf tournament of Club Filipino, Inc. de Cebu (CFIC).

Monterrazas de Cebu put up a PhP1 million prize for the hole-in-one challenge on all the Par 3s at a distance of 160 yards. For an Eagle on all the Par 4s, at stake is a motorcycle courtesy of SKYGO Motors.

CFIC president Renato V. Osmeña said all is set for this year’s Corn Tee golf tournament. There is no turning back even with the limited time preparation, he added.

Engr. Edgar Aliño, the golf chairman, said the club expects some 300 participants from the different golf clubs in Cebu as well as golfers from the neighboring provinces.

It is a Team Play format tournament with one club member and three guests in a team. A member can have more than one team. But only two members of a team can play in each flight of four.

The scoring is Modified Stableford.

Each team will play 36 Holes for two days of the four days schedule. Guest players are required to show their club handicap index.

Attractive raffle prizes await the participants during the dinner and awards night sponsored by PAGCOR in Parkmall at its social hall on Sept. 8.  (FREEMAN)
