CEBU, Philippines - The University of Cebu's Maritime Education Training Center and Banilad campus emerged victorious on separate divisions at the conclusion of the 15th UC Chancellor's Cup Bowling Tournament at SM City-Cebu Bowling Center.
METC dominated the men's division with 1,770 pinfalls while the Alumni squad settled second with 1,752 pinfalls while the Commerce department came out third with 1,713 pinfalls.
METC's female counterparts, however, could only place fourth in the women's division with a total of 1,315 pinfalls.
UC Banilad reigned supreme in the women's division with 1,612 pinfalls while the high school department placed second with 1,552 and Commerce with another third place finish with 1,363 points.
The Grades School and Administration bets may fail to get into the podium, they both were adjudged as the best in uniforms.
Grade School department's Dedie Ragay also got the top scorer award in the women's game 5 with 173 pins while Commerce department's bets Ezperanza Montanez topped game 2 along with CTS-C's Fe Solbrilla with 162 points. Alumni Arlene Abella's 178 and Lydia Sanchez's 158 were the best scorers under games 1 and 3 respectively.
In the men's division, the top scorers were METC's Raul Rosas got 200 in game 4 and Virgilio Atienza in game 5 with 224 points while UC-Banilad's Bert Mandin topped game 1 with 182, Alumni's Bonie Tiongson with 200 points and Commerce bet Rico Bastida at game 2 with 192 pinfalls. —(FREEMAN)
