CEBU, Philippines - The ePerformax Reds and the 1&1 Marauders pummeled their respective rivals in bracket B action of the Northern Conference in the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym. Eperformax mauled the ASI Hardbacks, 90-66, while 1&1 prolonged the misery of the winless Executive Boutique Lycans, 66-50.
Man mountain Robert Gilo bulldozed his way to 18 points on top of eight rebounds, two blocks and two assists, even as four others cashed in double figures for ePerformax, which now holds a 5-3 win-loss record.
Floyd Dean Singco finished with 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals in an all-around performance for ePerformax, in the same way with John Alexon Loon who netted 16 points, six assists, three steals and two rebounds.
Patrick Anthony Ybañez contributed 12 points and three rebounds for ePerformax, which broke the game wide open right from the start on the way to post a commanding 47-29 lead at halftime.
ASI countered with an 18-7 blast in the third, but ePerformax shot back to life in the final quarter, closing the match with a 36-19 blitz for the 24-point blowout.
Paul Amit had 15 points and eight rebounds followed by Donald Stephen de Leon with 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists but they both went home on a pensive mood as ASI suffered its fifth loss against only two victories.
In the other game, Argiel Fernandez had 11 points and Raymaond Basañez added 10 points, four rebounds and three assists for 1&1, which battered Executive Boutique at will after taking a 31-22 edge at the break. The sustained their momentum to thrash the Lycans by 16 points at the final buzzer.
Gestoni Santos had 15 points and four rebounds, while Rex Barrientos nailed a dozen markers along with two rebounds for Executive Boutique, which is mired down the rear without a win in eight starts.— EBV (FREEMAN)
