Aegis now 4-0 in CSCC E-League

EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Dean Junber Escalon unloaded 23 points and seven rebounds as the Aegis Vipers hammered the ePerformax Reds, 74-61, to stay undefeated after four starts in the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Ryan Veloso added 13 points, five rebounds, and two blocks, while Frederic Yballe scored 11 for Aegis, which detonated a devastating 26-12 bomb in the final quarter to blow away ePerformax and fortify its hold of the Nothern Conference lead with an immaculate 4-0 slate.

Raymond Dennis Tan finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and two steals, while Patrick Anthony Ybañez and Rafael Jose Cuico each had 11 markers for ePerformax, which suffered its second loss against one victory.

On the other hand, the Accenture Sharks bounced back from previous defeat in style, thrashing the hapless Talleco Bandits by 54 points, 101-47, to stay on top of bracket B in the Southern Conference with a 5-1 win-loss record.

Jasper Loreto and Archie Batua masterminded the blowout for Accenture. Loreto pumped in half of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, while Batua fired 17 of his 22 points in the third period where they relentlessly mauled Talleco, 32-5.

The other double-digit scorers for Accenture were Merrick Tecson and Ryan Edward Llanos with 13 and 11, respectively.

Saul Branzuela finished with 12 points and four rebounds, Junmar Estrada had 10 points, three rebounds and two steals for Talleco, which suffered its third setback in four games.

In the other game, the Telstra-Teletech Titans notched back-to-back wins after woeful 0-4 start at the expense of the SSI Warriors, 68-62. They trailed by four at halftime, 31-35, but turned to a solid final-half showing to turn the tables on SSI at the final buzzer.

Clifford Amarado paced Telstra-Teletech with 24 points, four rebounds and three assists followed by Lorenzo Ruiz, namesake of the first Filipino saint, with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Lawrence Daven Agas netted 14 points and three rebounds, while John Denver Rivera and Ronald Campaña connived for 22 points and 12 rebounds but their efforts went futile as SSI fell to 1-3. (FREEMAN)
