CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's pride Jon-Jon Adlawan once again flaunted his superb riding skills to rule the Tacloban leg of Kopiko Astig 3-in-one Supercross series the other day in Maharlika Highway, Tacloban City.
Adlawan snared the pro open title after outsmarting Rhowell Bornok Mangosong IV and the legendary Glenn "Da King" Aguilar, who settled for only third place after posting back-to-back wins during the Dumaguete leg of the nationwide race. Ambo Yapparcon and Dondon Yuzon rounded up the top five finishers.
In the pro lites class, Mangosong took home the champion's trophy after edging out Adlawan and Aguilar. Jeffward Torio came out the fastest in the open enduro category, while the fast-rising downhiller Felson Ray Baculpo claimed the top spot in the underbone class. Jacob Orbe lorded it over in the novice open as Pia Gabriel snatched the women's crown.
The rest of the winners were Jed Luna (local enduro), Ted Conde (intermediate),Jaypee Glenn Gaid (peewee 50cc) BJ Pepito (peewee 65)cc, McLean Aguilar (mini), Rex Barbaso (veterans A), John Fernandez (veterans B) and Jay Lacnit (veteran C). (FREEMAN)
