Cebu City dancesporters shine anew in Manila tilt

CEBU, Philippines - On the heels of a stellar showing in the PSC-POC Philippine National Games, Dancesport-Team Cebu City sustained its momentum by garnering 17 golds, 12 silvers and a bronze medal in the 2013 DSCPI National Dancesport Mid-Ranking and Competition late Saturday night at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Bjorn Torreon and Elsa Zetz led the cast of big winners with three golds via the SE 2F, grade C and SE 2B classes of the modern standard event.

John Paul Mocorro also hauled a total of three golds, two with Therese Andre Quilaton in the junior A Latin and standard and one with Jam Flores in the standard youth C. Mocorro and Flores also got a silver in the standard youth C.

Flores won another gold in the SE male latin, this time with Bert Kevin Dilovio as partner.

DTCC directress Eleanor Hayco also showed her versatility on the dancefloor with two golds, one from the latin SE 2A with Wilbert Aunso and the other from the senior standard C with Davin Unabia.

Eo Lowen Rendon and Mary Desiree Seraga made their presence felt by grabbing a pair of gilt in the SE 1F and SEM Latin.

Jojit Cabuenas and Kieko Ozaeta had a golden performance in the SE 2B Latin and a silver in the SE 2A Latin, while Charlie Camacho and Marisse Reyes won gold in the senior A Latin and a silver in the Senior 2B Latin.

Andrew Ysla and Kathlene Joy Diluvio contributed one gold in the junior C latin and a silver in the standard, while Rinzon Elarcosa and Reyana Mae Elarcosa chipped in one gold in the Latin action through the Youth C division.

Zjine Troy and Zjiana Tracy Villarta, for their part, added one gold in youth A standard and a silver in the Latin dances.

Jeffrey Benarao and Mary Mae Canillo handed the 17th gold for DTCC via the youth A latin class and the lone bronze for the team via the standard youth A.

The other DTCC members who wound up with silver medals were Carl Nathanyl Papellero and Jasmine Kate Labra in the juvenile C latin and standard, Romeo Cialbo and Mae Pabuaya in the standard SE 1F, Jessel Yap and his partner Diane in the standard Grade C and Ronald Ruiz and Jocelyn Zetz in the standard SE 2F and standard senior C.
