CEBU, Philippines - The 1&1 Marauders opened their title bid with a rousing 68-42 win over the Executive Boutique Lycans at the start of the CSCC E-League Season 9 basketball tournament last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
The outcome of the match was already a foregone conclusion when the Marauders mounted an commanding 20-4 lead at the end of the first period.
The Lycans rallied back in the middle quarters, 36-24, to trim the deficit down to only four points, 40-44, but that was the best they could muster as the Marauders closed the game with a 24-2 bang to come up with a 26-point cakewalk.
Argiel Fernandez paced the Marauders with 14 points followed by Jan Isiah Gabest with 13 markers.Andrew Thomas John Hilvano was the lone bright spot for the Lycans with 14 points.
