P100T bounty at stake in Hunat Sugbu Tres
CEBU, Philippines - Over P100,000 in cash prize is at stake for the winners of the Hunat Sugbu Tres-Dagan Para Ni Maning set on June 23 at the Terraces of Ayala Center-Cebu. The annual charity run is dedicated to the late Manuel Go Ting, the founding president Cebu Parklane International Hotel.
“My late father has always been athletic. He played tennis before then as it comes to age, he shifted to running, jogging, swimming then walking,†said Parklane CEO and President Basil Teng in a press conference yesterday.
For this year’s edition, the organizers are expecting a maximum of 3,000 fitness buffs to take part in the race that features the 5K, 10K and 21K categoties.
The 500 slots alloted for the 5K division has already been filled up, but the organizers might re-open its registration depending on the turnout of entries in the other divisions.
The 10K also has a limit of 500 participants, while the premiere 21K has a maximum of 2,000 runners.
Also, the locals will be separated from the foreign runners and a different set of prizes are store for them.
The top three male and female finishers in the international division will receive P6,000, P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.
The same breakdown will be offered to the top three among the local footracers, while the fourth and fifth will pocket P2,000 and P1,000.
A specially-designed medal will also be given away to all the 21K finishers.
The top three performers in the 10K will take home P4,000, P3,000 and P2,000, while the bounty will be sliced to P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 for the 5K winners.
All the finishers will again enjoy a sumptuous breakfast buffet. They will also have a chance to win
gift certificates from Parklane, iShop, ROX and Rudy Project that will be raffled off after the race.
Before feasting on the food from Parklane, the runners will have to deal with a more challenging route, according to race technical director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE).
Entry fee is pegged at P500 for the 10K and P600 for the 21K. (FREEMAN)
