CEBU, Philippines - Prime Asia will battle the Cebu Landmasters in the main match at 5:45 pm, right after Raphael's Cafe/USJ-R Jaguars and San Marino Tuna/CIT-U Wildcats collide against each other in the 4 pm opener hoping to finally score a victory this season.
With a formidable roster jacked up by two Nigerian bangers in Steve Cedrick Akomo and Mike Nzenssue, Prime Asia is truly a force to reckon with.
Even without Akomo and Nzenssue, Prime Asia still boasts of a deadly offensive arsenal with bunch of tall guys in the likes of Rhaffy Oktubre, Chris Perolino and rookie Leonard Santillan who could easily size up Cebu Landmasters' big men in promising rookie Garrick Ayala, Charles Pepito and Mel Steven Duran.
Prime Asia currently enjoys the solo lead with a clean 2-0 slate. The wards of coach Felix Belano, Jr. routed the Gaisano Capital South in the season-opener, 80-57, and followed it up with an 88-75 crushing of Lions Katol.
The Cebu Landmasters, on the other hand, totes an even 1-1 card in a tie with Lions Katol. They hurdled their opening assignment against San Marino Tuna, 71-68, but fumbled at the hands of Gaisano Capital South, 74-80.
Like San Marino Tuna, Raphael's Cafe also aims to finally break into the win column after dropping its first game against Lions Katol, 57-63. (FREEMAN)
