New cut-off

Ultramarathoners  bracing for the 3rd Coast to Coast 65 Km Ultramarathon on April 28 are in for more challenges.  The race which fires off at the Cebu Provincial  Capitol will now start  at 12:01 (one hour earlier than last year's) and will have a cut-off time of 12 hours or one hour less than the 13 hours of the second edition.  Frontrunner Magazine editor- in- chief and main organizer Jonel Mendoza  said, we are true to our name which is "hardcore" and reminded that the run is not for the faint-hearted. Unlike other ultras designed to make it easier for the participants,  the C2C  Ultramarathon will again pass the grueling Transcentral Highway in Balamban while enduring the scorching sun on the way to Toledo City. Some 100 runners have already registered with the deadline set on April 21.  Cut-off time for the relay will also be 12 hours. Registration is still on going at RUNNR Ayala.

ELVIS SERENADES THE MOMS

Did you know that Elvis was a certified  "Mama's  boy"?  Yes folks, Elvis loved his mother Gladys so much that it took a long time for him to recover after she died.  On  May 18, Elvis will again show his love for mothers when he performs in a mini-concert at Robinsons Place  Cebu  Activity Center. The show is in celebration of Mother's  Day which falls on May 12. But since the next day, May 13th , is Election Day, the show was moved to May 18, according to assistant marketing manager, Avigael  Maningo. The one and a half hour  variety show dubbed " Elvis and Company Serenade The Moms",  also feature  TV host Sam Costanilla and comedian Max "Daloydoy" Andrino, collectively known as "Dos Gwapos Comic Duo".  Sam and Max will tickle you with their stand-up comedy  gig.  Also performing are Ate Ging Montesclaros, TV host (Two For The Road Plus One) on CCTN TV Channel 47, Chokolet, The Snakeman, comedian-magician and Cebu's Frank Sinatra, Jun Villahermosa.  Of course, Elvis will be the main attraction and will be singing  love songs like " The Wonder Of You", "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" , " Love Me Tender" and "Can't Help Falling In Love".  But Robinsons Place Operations Manager Donabelle Acebuque said  she also wants to hear "Hound Dog", "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Don't Be Cruel".  So folks, remember the date May 18 at 5pm Robinsons Place Cebu. See you there!
