Deep Blue Café to stage 18-under chess tourney

CEBU, Philippines - In line with its thrust to develop new talents and scout for potentials, the Deep Blue ‘D Woodpushers Chess Club will hold a developmental 18-under chess tournament tomorrow at the Deep Clue Café situated at the second level of SM City-Cebu.

The one-day tilt sponsored by lawyers Jongjong Melendez and Ben Harayo  is open to all players, rated or unrated so long as they are under the said age-group.

International artiber Marvin Ruelan said they will be accepting on-site registration an hour before the competition starts at 10:30 am.

Entry fee is pegged at P100 only.

The champion of the 7-round Swiss system competition will receive P1,200, while the second to fifth placers will get P800, P600, P400 and P200, respectively.
