CEBU, Philippines - The undefeated 1st Family Appliance Circle '96 sustained its spectacular run with a 70-57 rout of Best World Lifestyle 2004 in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Saturday at the CEC gym.
In another superb display of teamwork, all players fielded in by Class '96 contributed on both ends of the court led by Rex Alinson with 16 points and two assists. Shaun Christopher Wang netted 12 points and hauled 15 rebounds as they firmed up their grip of the solo lead with an immaculate 8-0 slate.
Rushmarc Lariosa and Rogelio Donayre each scored 11 even as they also combined for eight rebounds, eight assists and six steals for Class '96, which launched an 18-8 blitz in the second period to break the game open at the bend, 31-20.
Dreyfuss Ang and Mark Ryan Babor also had substantial contributions, conspiring for 16 points, 23 rebounds, 10 assists and six steals for Class '96.
Joseph Aljhune Areja had 21 points on top of six assists, three rebounds and two steals for Class 2004, which fell to 2-2.
In the other game, Sammy Sia charted 17 points, 12 rebounds and three steals, while Paul Michael Cabellon added 12 points and six rebounds as Argentina Corned Beef '84/87/90 bested the listless Wild Rice 2007, 50-41, for its only second win in six starts.
Juan Carlo Espada finished 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists but couldn't do much as Class 2007 slumped to its fifth straight loss in as many games.
