Nietes leads ALA fighters in public workout tonight

CEBU, Philippines - The marquee fighters from the fabled ALA Boxing Gym who will take centerstage in the highly-anticipated “Pinoy Pride XVIII:World Champion vs. World Champion” are raring to give their fans another taste of the “Big Night” through a no-holds-barred sparring session starting at 6 pm today at Paseo de San Ramon in Banawa, Brgy. Guadalupe, this city.

Presented by ALA Promotions and topbilled by reigning WBO light flyweight champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes, the action-packed public workout will also feature the promising WBO Asia-Pacific super bantamweight titlist Genesis “Azukal” Servania and Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca, who looks forward to extend his eight-fight winning streak.

Also seeing action tonight are the likes of Arthur Villanueva, Roli Gasca, Mark Acub, Mark Bernaldez, Pedro Balaba,Ralph Lulu, Boyce Sultan, Brian Lobitania, Jojo Intor, Juren Labordo, Jerson Mancio, Rey Morales, Roma Rate, Kazuma Ejiri, and Rolando Servania.

ALA Promotions is setting up the boxing demonstration for the fans to have a first-hand view and experience the intensity that’s building up for Pinoy Pride XVIII slated on March 2 at the Pacific grand ballroom of the posh Waterfront-Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

In the main event, Nietes (31-1-3, 17KOs) will defend his WBO throne against Moises Fuentes (16-1, 8KOs) of Mexico, the WBO minimumweight crown-holder who bravely moved up from the 105-pound division to the 108-pound class just to challenge the soft-spoken Bacoleño ring gladiator.

Servania (19-0, 6KOs), the reigning WBO Asia-Pacific and WBC Silver super bantamweight titlist, will stake his unbeaten record against Indonesian 'Time Bomb' Angky Angkota (26-8, 14KOs), while the resurgent Jaca (30-6-3, 20KOs) will slug it out with Rachamongkol Sor Pleonchit (13-4, 5KOs) of Thailand's world-renowned Kokiet Gym.

For tonight's affair, the audience will have a chance to win tickets for the explosive card co-presented by ASBS-CBN Sports. They just need to answer questions about the upcoming event that is expected to be another blockbuster hit.
