USC, UV now 3-0 in ThreeSixty cagefest

CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Carlos (USC) and University of the Visayas (UV) resumed their winning ways as they scored their third straight wins in the Under 13 age group of the ThreeSixty Pharmacy (TSP) Cup 2013. USC stopped Cebu Eastern College (CEC), 48-32, at the USC South Campus Gym while UV cruised to a 43-26 win over the University of San Jose Recoletos at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Mango Avenue Campus Gym.

It was a day of wins for the USC teams as USC South defeated USJR-B, 17-7, in an Under 10 age group game also at the  USC South Campus which was celebrating its Family Day.

In the other game in line with the occasion, USC South-B defeated St. Benedict, 64-35 in an Under 13 Division B game. In the other games played at the SHS-AdC Mango campus, guest team CEC topped USC North, 25-15, in an Under 10 game.

In Under 16 Division A action, CEC went 1-1 as it beat Abellana National School, 72-44. Southwestern University scored its first win via a 55-26 win over USJR-B.

UV and USC now lead the pack in the Under 13 Division A with 3-0 records, followed by SHS-AdC A (2-0), CEC (0-2), SHS-AdC B (0-2) and USJR-A (0-3). The Under 10 age group is led by guest team CEC (3-0), followed by USC North (2-1), USJR-A (1-1), SHS-AdC (1-1), USC South (1-2) and USJR-B (0-3).

The holding of games in different venues is part of the TSP Cup’s thrust to encourage fellowship among the participating teams. It has now become an annual tradition for USC South to host games when they have their Family Day every February.  (FREEMAN)
