All set for Mactan Newtown Fun Run

CEBU, Philippines -  It's all systems go for the first ever Mactan Newtown Fun Run billed as "I Run For My Visayan Dream" this Sunday.

Situated in a massive 16.2 hectare complex near world class resorts in Brgy. Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, The Mactan Newtown hosts a mixed used master plan of residential condominiums, BPO offices, medical clinics, commercial avenues, restaurants, coffee shops, high End mall with Theater, activity centers, and hotels among others. It is developed by Megaworld Corporation, the country's largest residential condominium and business process outsourcing office developer and landlord.

No less than highly esteemed business tycoon Fernado Zobel, President and Chief Operating Officer of Ayala Corporation, is expected to take part in the 'Youth Fun Run' along with a few celebrities led by Cebuano actor/model Slater Young and Habitat for Humanity ambassadors. Young is best known for being the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Unlimited.

Assembly time is set at 5 am, while gun start is at 6 am.

After the charity run, there will be a closing event at 8 am to be graced by Senator Chiz Escudero, Megaworld Cebu Properties President Noli D. Hernandez, Habitat for Humanity President and CEO Charlie Ayco and Habitat Youth Council President Kevin Yang.

Escudero will talk about the importance of youth in Habitat's housing challenge, Hernandez will give a brief  overview on the Megaworld-Habitat partnership, while Ayco will discuss about the broad vision of the Visayan Dream.

Afterwhich, the awarding of winners will be held together with the distribution of plaques of recognition to event sponsors and loot bags to the participants. (FREEMAN)
